Little Corella

Cacatua sanguinea

In Western Australia this species has relatively recently extended its range south to the Perth area. Recorded at lake Claremont since the early 1960s. They form large roosting flocks which can be quite noisy.
A playful bird, they enjoy swinging from overhead wires and TV antennas.
Corellas feed on the ground on plant shoots, roots and seed, as well as insects and insect larvae.
