On the second Sunday of every month our volunteers meet at the lake to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty! The time of the year dictates the task at hand. In winter we plant, at the conclusion of planting season we begin weeding in earnest. At other times mulch needs to be spread and fences erected. There is always work to be done! It’s not all hard work, we usually wrap up our sessions with a morning tea provided by some of our members. It’s a great opportunity for neighbours and friends to meet and fresh recruits are always made to feel welcome.
We have volunteers from all walks of life, from teenagers to retiree’s. Our most senior volunteer is in her 90’s and rarely misses a chance to pitch in!
You don’t have to be a member of FOLC to come down and join in.
