The local community is invited to help the Friends of Lake Claremont on this popular planting day. Come along and meet some of your neighbours and see the magnificent work being done. Families are welcome.
The FOLC set a big target: 2000 local native seedlings! We can accommodate up to 100 volunteers, so even if you aren’t a local you are very welcome to join in!
The session runs for 3 hours in the morning, 9am to 12pm, but you can stay for as long as you like. Help is needed from 08:00 – 09:00 to lay out the plants.
The meeting location is at the FOLC shed on the northeast side of Lake Claremont, 200m west of the Lakeway St cup-de-sac. Look for the FOLC yellow flag.
Please wear closed in shoes and be prepared for rain. Gloves, tools and instruction are provided. We also serve up a free tea and refreshments.
The FOLC are proud to be leading one of the largest ongoing restoration projects in Perth. Only local native trees and shrubs are being planted to help enhance the natural environment and provide habitat for the local wildlife like insects, frogs, skinks and birds.
In 2019, the FOLC will host 2 public planting days for the local and wider community, Sunday mornings 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Click the links below for details.
