Job Description

Job Title – Paralegal

Location – 100% Onsite in Idaho Falls Idaho 83042 United States

Duration – Permanent Role/Direct Hire

Salary: $70000 to $80000

We are a 20-person legal team built on real collaboration, real work, and zero pretense. As we continue to scale intentionally, we’re looking for a detail-driven, mission-aligned Paralegal to join our high-performing staff and support attorneys who are redefining what legal defense looks like. We’re structured to let good people thrive: no bloated hierarchy, minimal meetings, and systems that support your time instead of draining it. Our clients range from public defense to private matters, and we handle every case with professionalism and compassion. This role offers meaningful work in a high-impact environment—supporting attorneys in criminal defense cases and occasionally working across civil rights, personal injury, or family law. If you’re organized, clear-thinking, and committed to excellence, we’d like to meet you.

Primary Function

The Paralegal will support attorneys with case management, document preparation, filings, and client communication. The role requires proactive coordination across teams, direct contact with courts and clients, and a high level of reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client updates and communication
  • Draft legal documents, discovery responses, and routine correspondence using firm templates
  • File pleadings with courts and maintain accurate calendars for hearings and deadlines
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, scheduling, and witness coordination
  • Conduct research and organize case materials for attorney review
  • Participate in weekly case reviews and contribute to strategic workflow discussions
  • Coordinate with opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties
  • Maintain compliance with confidentiality standards, court rules, and internal procedures

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a law firm setting (criminal law preferred)
  • Strong communication, organization, and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and case management software (Clio preferred)
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities under pressure with minimal supervision

Preferred

  • Experience in criminal defense support, including trial preparation
  • Knowledge of Idaho court systems and procedures
  • Spanish-speaking or bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply

Compensation & Benefits

  • Quarterly performance-based bonuses
  • Health insurance cost-share and optional dental/vision coverage
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • CLE and professional development reimbursement
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Flexibility for some remote work depending on responsibilities
  • Growth opportunities in a mission-driven and rapidly expanding firm

Physical Requirements

  • Regular use of computer systems and phone communication
  • Travel to courts and legal offices in Southern and Eastern Idaho
  • Occasional evening or weekend work depending on case deadlines
  • Must have reliable transportation
