Pay rate: $24-26 depending on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Utility Locator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and marking underground private utilities and utilities using specialized equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Use electronic detection equipment to locate and mark underground utilities (water, gas, electric, sewer, telecom, etc.).
Interpret utility maps, blueprints, and job tickets to determine work sites.
Ensure accuracy and precision in marking utilities to prevent damage during excavation.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of completed work.
Follow safety protocols and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and supervisors regarding project details.
Perform routine maintenance on locating equipment and report any malfunctions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus.
Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred (willing to train the right candidate).
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to read maps and understand technical diagrams.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
