Position Summary

Provide direct support to the Group Violence Intervention GVI group members and coordinate a partnership of social service agencies. Operation GVI is modeled after the National Network for Safe Communities' group violence reduction intervention strategy. This position will coordinate with partner agencies, social service providers and community members to create a unique support structure tailored to the group member who is the focus of GVI.

The Success Coach will serve as the main point of contact for group members interested in getting support; this includes but is not limited to answering phones 24/7, meeting with group members to do intakes, assisting them through all the available resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide on-call service for GVI participants
  • Identify and connect to resources and advocate for members for all needed services
  • Speak at the call-ins and participate in custom notifications (individual notifications to group members) along with law enforcement and community members.
  • Meet with social service organizations to brief the on GVI and gain commitment to prioritize group members for support services
  • Maintain strong, collaborative working relations with a set of social service providers to assist group members in various advancements endeavors, such as education, career opportunities and safety.
  • Establish a Support and Outreach subcommittee consisting of those committed organizations and convene regularly and provide progress reports regularly
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement and NNSC, participating in trainings and regular meetings
  • Maintain case records including intakes, progress notes, and releases, keeping adequate documentation for reporting and management purposes as specified by the program
  • Track the progress of each group member in terms of programmatic completion as well as to the extent this support structure is keeping them alive and out of jail/prison

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or a minimum of 3 years experience in case management services and/or counseling high-risk populations.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal, & interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
  • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
  • Able to work with Law Enforcement
  • Proven problem-solving skills with an ability to anticipate problems and develop solutions
  • Must have a reliable vehicle
  • Valid NYS driver's license

Salary - $50,000 - $55,000
