Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role supports K-12 students by addressing their social, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive needs through direct therapy and collaborative interventions within a school setting in Missouri Valley, IA. The position is full-time, onsite, and itinerant across grade levels with an expected caseload of 6-8 students per day, focusing on mental health therapy services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and identify educational and social-emotional needs impacting student success.
• Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and behavior management within the school context.
• Collaborate with teachers, mental health specialists, and other agencies to develop strategies that promote positive student outcomes.
• Consult with families and community partners to coordinate services and facilitate communication.
• Implement school-approved professional development and maintain current knowledge through research and evidence-based practices.
• Administer and interpret assessments to guide interventions and supports.
• Serve as a liaison between home, school, and community to enhance student well-being.

Qualifications:

• Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from a Council on Social Work Education-accredited program.
• Licensure as a Licensed Independent Social Worker or Licensed Masters Social Worker recognized by the Iowa Department of Health or equivalent.
• School Social Work Endorsement or Statement of Professional Recognition from the Iowa Department of Education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving.
• Capacity to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations if needed, including travel within assigned schools and routine physical activities.
