Join Our Team as an RN, MedSurg (On Call, Nights) at Kaiser Permanente!

In this pivotal role, you'll deliver exceptional nursing care to medical-surgical patients while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team. Bring your skills to the forefront as you assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care — all under general supervision.

What You’ll Do:

As an RN in this position, you’ll play a crucial role in our patients’ journeys. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessment: Conduct thorough multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental evaluations.
• Planning: Develop personalized nursing care plans sensitive to each patient’s developmental needs and coordinate care activities with other departments.
• Implementation: Execute care protocols, administer medications, and document accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of care plans, participate in quality assurance activities, and adjust care as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of nine (9) months of RN experience.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certificate (required within 3 months of hire)
• Additional Skills: Proficiency in computer keyboarding is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, we highly value candidates who also have:

• Previous healthcare experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field
• Experience in acute care or skilled nursing settings
• Telemetry experience and Med/Surg Certification
• Strong clinical judgment with a variety of chronic illnesses and surgical orthopedic patients

Working Conditions:

• This is an on-call, night shift position in a high-paced medical-surgical environment.
• Expect rotating hours that require flexibility.
