Physician Assistant – Newton‑Wellesley Sports Medicine Location: 978 Worcester Street, Wellesley, MA. 40‑hour, full‑time position. Schedule: Clinic (3 days), OR (1 day), Admin (1 day) 8:00 am‑4:30 pm. Responsibilities Provide outpatient clinical care in the Sports Medicine Department. Obtain comprehensive orthopedic histories and examinations for new, established, and post‑operative patients. Determine and implement appropriate treatment plans. Act as First Assist in the Operating Room. Review patient care management issues with the Medical Director and Lead PA. Consult with appropriate resources as needed. Order and interpret imaging studies; write patient orders per Medical Staff Policies. Coordinate follow‑up care with Orthopedic Surgeons. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (e.g., wound care, suturing, joint aspiration, steroid & anesthetic injections). Maintain in‑basket documentation in a timely manner. Provide first‑level response to acute complications and emergencies. Accept responsibility for patient care delivery. Collaborate effectively with all levels of personnel; attend weekly orthopedic grand rounds. Participate in quality improvement/quality assurance processes and monthly PA meetings. Qualifications M‑Level education – Physician Assistant required. Active State PA license. Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred. Ability to perform direct patient care, counseling, and teaching in an ambulatory setting. Proficiency in history, physical examination, laboratory/diagnostic ordering and interpretation, procedure planning, and documentation (admission notes, progress notes, procedure and discharge summaries). Capable of performing bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population.
