POSITION SUMMARY:

The position of Occupational Therapist (PT) is intended to support clients recommended for OT as well as clients receiving early intervention services through regional centers. The OT position is responsible for clinical evaluations, client therapy sessions, and collaboration with other specialties (ABA, SLP, PT), and all necessary documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

All duties and responsibilities will be delegated to the Physical Therapist and may include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Uphold all duties and responsibilities of an a Physical Therapist at the Manager level for all clients on caseload
    • 25 billable hr/week (report writing is included in this)
  • Management of caseload
    • Develop customized treatment plans based on assessment findings that incorporate the child’s home setting and daily routines.
    • Implement Occupational Therapy interventions in the home, community or clinic to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, feeding, visual motor, coordination, and daily living skills.
    • Utilize play-based therapy techniques and home-based activities to engage children in their natural environment.
    • Regularly reassess and adjust treatment plans to ensure ongoing progress toward goals.
    • Provide hands-on training and education to families and caregivers on how to support the child’s development within the home.
    • Recommend and demonstrate environmental modifications to promote independence and development.
    • Maintain patient records, documentation, and appropriate billing in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy to ensure excellent standard of care.
  • Support Early Intervention Services
    • Current regions: Inland Regional Center; Harbor Regional Center
    • Manage early intervention cases by writing and tracking goals or progress.
    • In-person support for first session with specialized instructors (SIs).
    • Monthly supervision of SIs in order to promote treatment fidelity and client outcomes.
    • Educate parents/caregivers through instruction, visual handouts, and evidence-based research that support client's goals.
    • Appropriate documentation
      • Progress reports (PRs)
      • Discharge reports
  • Consult and Coordinate care with other specialties working with clients
  • Contribute to program development
  • Any additional tasks delegated by the Clinical Director

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  1. Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  2. Licensure/Certification: Current State and National Occupational Therapy license. OTR/L certification is required.
  3. Experience: 1-3 years experience working with children
