As a Certifying Scientist (Toxicology), you will play a key role in ensuring safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance in our toxicology department. This position requires hands-on LCMS experience and direct certifying experience in drugs of abuse or pain management testing in a CLIA/CAP-compliant clinical laboratory .

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain LCMS and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry instruments .
• Conduct toxicology testing , with a focus on drugs of abuse analysis .
• Certify patient results to ensure accuracy and compliance with CLIA/CAP and regulatory standards .
• Perform quality control procedures and take corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues .
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements .
• Interpret and analyze data , generating accurate patient result reports.
• Assist in method validation and continuous improvement initiatives for toxicology testing.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in chemistry, biology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical toxicology required.
• Certifying Scientist experience required (must have experience certifying patient results).
• LCMS-specific experience required.
• Experience with drugs of abuse testing required.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate results efficiently .

Schedule

• Flexible schedule.
• Onsite in Draper, Utah (Relocation assistance available – variable).

Background Check Requirement

A background check is required for this position. Continued employment is dependent on the outcome of the background check.
