Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Interior Design Assistant to join our team and provide essential support to our designers throughout the design process. The Interior Design Assistant will assist with various tasks, including conceptual design development, space planning, material and furniture selection, and project coordination. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a creative individual with a passion for interior design to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist designers with conceptual design development, including researching design trends, creating mood boards, and developing design concepts.
  • Support space planning efforts by assisting with floor plan layouts, furniture arrangements, and spatial organization to maximize functionality and aesthetics.
  • Assist with material and finish selections, including researching and sourcing materials, fabrics, finishes, and furnishings that meet project requirements and design vision.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to obtain quotes, samples, and product information, and track orders to ensure timely delivery and installation.
  • Assist with the preparation of design presentations, including digital renderings, presentation boards, and material sample boards, to communicate design concepts to clients effectively.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and project correspondence, to ensure accurate record-keeping and project tracking.
  • Assist with on-site visits and project installations, including overseeing deliveries, coordinating with contractors, and assisting with furniture placement and styling as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to designers, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating project-related tasks to ensure efficient project workflow.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and emerging technologies in interior design to contribute fresh ideas and inspiration to design projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field is preferred. Candidates enrolled in an accredited interior design program or with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience or internship in interior design or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong creative and conceptual design skills, with a passion for interior design and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and/or other design tools is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Multi-Tasking is a must !
  • Knowledge of interior design principles, materials, finishes, and furnishings, with a desire to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
