Attorney – Construction Litigation – Labor Law
Job Description:
New York Metro Area law firm with national practice seeks attorneys with construction litigation experience in defense work. New York Bar required and New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania Bars a plus. We are looking for Construction Litigation Labor Law Attorney to join a growing team that handles a significant amount of construction litigation cases. The right candidate will have substantive experience handling cases that deal with Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6), as well as contractual indemnification issues between the parties. Strong Labor Law deposition experience a must. The attorney will join a thriving team and manage their own cases day to day with collaboration and availability from Team Leaders. The attorney will report to clients and carriers, appear in Court for conferences and motions, comply with discovery, take and defend depositions, coordinate medical examinations and prepare and file motions. The team also handles premises liability cases, so a general working knowledge of negligence cases preferred.

Key Responsibilities
· Represent clients in the defense of construction litigation, focusing on Labor Law claims under NY Labor Law Sections 200, 240, and 241.
· Handle a variety of legal matters in the construction industry, including personal injury claims, worker’s compensation claims, OSHA violations, and wage and hour disputes.
· Provide legal advice on risk management, compliance, and labor law regulations affecting construction projects.
· Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other construction-related legal documents to ensure compliance with labor laws and industry standards.
· Conduct legal research and analysis related to construction and labor law issues, staying current with changes in New York State law.
· Appear in court for hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations.
· Collaborate with other attorneys and experts to build defense strategies in construction litigation cases.
· Advise clients on labor and employment matters, including union relations, collective bargaining agreements, and labor disputes.
· Assist in the preparation and trial of complex litigation cases.
