Overview St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, NH is seeking a qualified FRENCH TEACHER for grades 9-12 for the 2025-2026 school year. Ideal Candidate Possess a strong subject background, teaching experience, and a solid understanding of high school curriculum in French. Demonstrate an understanding of and implement the ACTFL Standards for proficiency-based language teaching and learning. Bring enthusiasm, energy, and passion to the classroom through a variety of teaching and learning practices. Connect positively with both students and families. Support the Catholic mission of the school and engage fully in the life of the school community. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Explore collaborative and interdisciplinary teaching relationships with colleagues. Use educational technology as a means for student gains and instructional design. Possess a high level of emotional intelligence. Education and Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in French or related field is required, with a Master’s degree preferred. One to three years of high school teaching experience, or applicable practicum/related program, is preferred. Possession of New Hampshire state certification in appropriate subject area and/or the ability to work toward state certification. Job Summary and Expectations Under the supervision of the Principal and Department Chair, the Teacher: Assumes responsibility for the leadership and management of the classes they are assigned. Strives to achieve the goals of the St. Thomas Aquinas Mission Statement, the Catholic faith, and values. Develops and implements a daily instructional program according to the needs of the students and the established curriculum. Recognizes and incorporates the rich diversity of the students in the classroom and their unique God-given talents to foster a culture of belonging. Maintains accurate records of attendance, scholastic achievement, etc., as required by the school, diocese, and state. Establishes positive public relations within and outside the school community. Commits to ongoing professional learning and growth.
