Job Title: Farm Labor Contractor

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Farm Labor Contractor in Garnett, KS, where you will play a crucial role in providing care to animals and supporting scientific research. This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to contribute to global challenges and work within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Feed animals daily and provide necessary care.
• Bleed sheep for diagnostic purposes for up to 8 hours a day, at least 3 days a week.
• Administer routine immunizations and treatments as directed.
• Provide basic feed and upkeep for animals on a rotational basis.
• Perform routine maintenance on animal care facilities and equipment.
• Assist with repairs of buildings, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Operate farm and construction equipment and machinery.
• Report safety hazards to appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

• General labor experience.
• Mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Capability to walk approximately up to 2 hours a day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Equivalent experience to a High School Diploma or GED.
• Related farm or mechanical experience preferred.
• Certification/licensure in welding, plumbing, or a related field is a plus.

Work Environment

The position operates on a 4x10 day shift schedule, from Monday to Thursday, 6 am to 4:30 pm, with overtime available. The role involves working with farm and construction equipment and requires a level of physical fitness to handle lifting and walking demands.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $45760.00/yr.
