Position Overview

Foundation Building Materials (FBM) is currently seeking a skilled Door Specialist to join our team.

Door Specialist are a skilled group of individuals that masterfully inspect, service, troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair commercial doors. As a Door specialist, you'll be responsible for maintaining the highest level of customer service while executing all daily functions including, but not limited to, the functions described below.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services.
  • Assistance to the roll operator.
  • Able to install, repair and modify commercial door hardware.
  • Recognize and modify hardware for locks by changing levers, lock bodies, trims, or cylinders.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Create and maintain master key systems.
  • Perform re-keying and pining of locks
  • Perform small projects as directed by Management.
  • Conform to all company policies and procedures, and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a full understanding of all products.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of equipment to determine necessary repairs.
  • Assure equipment and work area are kept clean.
  • Responsible for inspection of product, paperwork, and all daily duties
  • Read instructions and understand procedure manuals.
  • Perform basic math skills.
  • Able to work in a diverse, fast paced, technology-driven environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be reliable and be detail oriented.
  • Eager to learn and use skill set to advance in career
  • Experience with commercial doors, frames, or hardware preferred.
  • Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
  • Participate in monthly and/or annual physical inventories.
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent work experience and/or training

  • Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-year experience in fast paced, technical, and related industry position
  • After receipt of conditional offer of employment, must be able to pass drug screen/physical/background check.
