first two weeks are 100% onsite for training and after hybrid

Job Summary
Responsible for providing day-to-day safety expertise and support for safety and health management within the Greater Michigan (GRMI) Operations. Monitors compliance with all applicable governmental regulations and company safety requirements. Uses technical and gas specific knowledge to facilitate the development of improvement initiatives regarding safety and industrial hygiene.
Provide safety support to the Energy Gas organization with an emphasis on the Greater Michigan Northern Michigan locations
Scope of Work
• Field visits will be conducted based on a frequency defined by Corporate Safety and Energy Gas Operations to Service Centers and job sites for the following locations:
o Traverse City
o Cadillac
o Petosky
o Grayling
o Tawas
o Alpena
o Suite Ste. Marie
o Escanaba
o Kingsford
• Conduct Industrial Hygiene Sampling as requested for Noise, NORM, and other exposures as requested by Corporate Safety
• Provides safety expertise and support to gas operations on safety and health policies, regulations and best practices.
• Partners with gas operations to resolve safety related issues.
• Supports enterprise safety initiatives implementation within gas operations.
• Works with gas operations to solve safety and industrial hygiene problems.
• Keeps Corporate Safety Leader abreast of safety and health issues and concerns within assigned area of responsibility.
• Meets with Federal and/or State Regulators during Opening Conferences, and be actively engaged in regulatory field inspections (e.g. MIOSHA).
• Assist GRMI Gas Leadership with regulatory requests for documentation and field inspection support.
• Performs Condition-Based Inspections, including mock inspections, satellite locations, walk downs, etc.
• Works with GRMI gas operations regarding incident/injury event management, including conducting investigations, developing countermeasures, identifying Direct Controls for high energy events, etc.
• Leads recordable/High-Energy (HSIF/PSIF) Incident investigations with root causal analysis scientific methods.
• Assists with the development and delivery of safety and industrial hygiene related reports, presentations, and training.
• Routinely participates in respective Gas Operations level 3 and 2 safety committee meetings and participates in level 1 meetings as available.

• Minimum of 6 months to a possible 12-month assignment to be determined by Corporate Safety
• 40 hour weeks
• Work to commence by June 30, 2025
