Once component pay begins, compensation shifts to a structure based on miles, cases, and stops, with hourly pay provided for any downtime. Excellent local leadership. **Main Ingredients of the Job** + Lead with safety at the forefront + Local and Layover routes available ( **_routes are bid by driver tenure_** ) + Orders are single pallet picked so no digging at deliveries. + Customer orders are selected on plastic pallets + For ease of unloading all route trailers are equipped with liftgates + All routes are dispatched with assigned powered pallet jacks + Tractors and route trailers are assigned by driver tenure + All delivery routes start between the hours of 5:00PM and 10:00PM + 4- and 5-day schedules available with consecutive days off + 5 _th_ and 6 _th_ day "extra work" is available with paid incentives + Perform backhauls and shuttles as required + Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections + All other tasks as requested by management **Physical Requirements** + Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required + Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required **What You Bring to the Table** + **Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*** + Must be at least 21 years of age + Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications + Minimum of six months commercial driving experience; **one year of food service experience preferred.** + Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations + Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records. _Great_ _delivery truck drivers_ _are crucial to the_ _US Foods®_ _team and one of the important faces of our organization.
