The Test Engineer Intern position entails working with internal teams to test the quality, functionality and performance of development products. Assigned tasks may include the development of test plans, procedures, integration and security requirements. The Test Engineer will coordinate with the Sales Engineering team and the Development team to accomplish project tasks, provide technical solutions, integration, and to support the development lifecycle. In this job, you will: Work as part of a diverse team of testers in a dynamic environment. Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and results. Apply critical thinking skills to devise test procedures to assess product compliance with NCDSMO RTB requirements. Interact with multiple Redmine instances to capture test processes. Make recommendations to the test team lead and manager for tools, techniques, and practices that can improve the overall test program within CSP. Generate technical documentation (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) of proposed and completed test cycles. Join support engineering staff at local DMV area deployments to broaden the understanding of how CSP products are deployed and used. Work closely with the software support engineering and development teams. Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a Computer Science program.

  • Possess an understanding of and be able to apply technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field of test engineering with a general knowledge of other related (mechanical, electrical and software) disciplines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing methods and methodologies
  • The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical leads to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Understanding and application of modern software development and systems engineering practices, design principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Capable of writing detailed test procedures
  • Capable of learning new systems quickly
  • Experience with RHEL, Centos (or similar Linux based OS) a plus Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Experience or equivalent experience, training and/or certifications
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment
  • Virtualization - VM Ware Player, Workstation, ESXi
  • Experience with Information Assurance concepts and processes within the Federal government.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Federal security regulations, standards, and processes
  • CISSP, CEH, COMP TIA, Network+ certifications are a big plus.
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $50872 - $68660 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
