We are seeking a Chemical / Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop, maintain, and optimize our chemical finishing processes while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards. This role is hands-on and requires close collaboration with production, quality, and environmental health & safety teams.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and improve electroplating, anodizing, conversion coating, and passivation processes.
Monitor and control chemical bath conditions, ensuring consistent performance and compliance with specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve process issues related to adhesion, corrosion resistance, and finish quality.
Support audits and maintain compliance with NADCAP, ISO, AS9100D, and customer specifications.
Drive process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven problem solving.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations for chemical handling and waste treatment.
Document standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process records.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production, quality, and cost goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in chemical or surface finishing processes (electroplating, anodizing, coatings, etc.).
Strong understanding of process control, bath chemistry, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with NADCAP, ISO, and AS9100 requirements preferred.
Knowledge of safety practices for handling hazardous chemicals.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work hands-on in a production environment.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
OSHA / HAZWOPER or other EHS-related training.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
