Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Airport Project Manager to lead and oversee complex infrastructure projects at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project management within active airport or large-scale transportation environments. Experience in architectural design and signage integration is highly desirable.

This role requires exceptional leadership, coordination, and communication skills to manage contractors, stakeholders, and multiple project timelines in a fast-paced, secure, and operationally sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning, design, and execution of airport capital improvement projects at LAX.
  • Lead coordination between architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and airport operations teams.
  • Ensure project compliance with FAA regulations, building codes, and LAX operational requirements.
  • Oversee budgeting, cost control, and schedule management from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Interface with stakeholders, including LAWA (Los Angeles World Airports), airlines, concessionaires, and public agencies.
  • Monitor construction progress, conduct site inspections, and resolve field conflicts or issues.
  • Ensure that wayfinding and signage elements are accurately implemented and aligned with the architectural vision and passenger experience goals.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, reporting, and tracking of milestones and deliverables.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably on aviation or transportation infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar projects in active public environments.
  • Signage, wayfinding, or architectural finishes experience is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of construction contract administration (e.g., AIA, CMAR, GMP).
  • Familiarity with FAA, ADA, CAL/OSHA, and California Building Code regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including stakeholder reporting.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore).
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work onsite at LAX; airport badging and security clearance required.
  • Flexibility to work nights or weekends as necessary to support project schedules.
  • Experience working in a live airport or similarly complex operational environment is highly preferred.
