Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year A bit about us: We are on the lookout for a dynamic, detail-oriented Permanent Staff Accountant to join our engineering industry team. This role is not just about numbers, it's about contributing to the development of strategic financial decisions that drive our success. As a Permanent Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities. You will be working closely with our financial team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Job Details Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
• Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation.
• Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of internal control policies, procedures, and operational strategies including the review and analysis of trends, results, and discrepancies.
• Manage and reconcile all financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
• Conduct regular ledger reconciliation and manage monthly accruals to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Handle monthly and annual closings and arrange for debt payment.
• Manage accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) and perform reconciliations.
• Use Great Plains, Excel, and other accounting software to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
• Support the financial planning and budgeting processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of related experience in accounting or financial systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, Great Plains software is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory and principles.
• Experience in preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, A/R, A/P, and financials.
• Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
• Strong attention to detail and respect for confidentiality.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven business decisions.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• CPA certification is a plus.
