The local community is invited to help the Friends of Lake Claremont on this popular planting day. Come along and meet some of your neighbours and see the magnificent work being done. Families are welcome.
The FOLC set a big target on all of our public planting sessions: to plant at least 2000 local native seedlings. We can accommodate up to 100 volunteers, so even if you aren’t a local you are very welcome to join in!
The session runs for 3 hours in the morning, 9am to 12pm, but you can stay for as long as you like.
Meet at 9:00 am on the north end of Shenton Place, next to the Claremont tennis hard courts. Planting is along the golf course edge. Look for the FOLC yellow flag.
Please wear closed in shoes and be prepared for rain. Gloves, tools and instruction are provided. We also serve up a free tea and refreshments.
The FOLC are proud to be leading one of the largest ongoing restoration projects in Perth. Only local native trees and shrubs are being planted to help enhance the natural environment and provide habitat for the local wildlife like insects, frogs, skinks and birds.
